Welcome to our Main Street historic district. Join Biddeford Historical Society’s board members on an hour long walk along Main Street, and share in its history and notable architecture.
Biddeford’s Main Street, bounded by the Saco River, is layered with the city’s history-from colonial era sites to nineteenth century, mammoth textile mills. Currently, a revitalization is underway downtown as new businesses and activity enliven Main Street. Walk with us to explore the buildings, history, and people that make Biddeford what it is today!
Sign up through Eventbrite, or at Mechanics Park on the day of RiverJam. Walks are offered at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm, and leave from Mechanics Park. Tickets are free with a suggested donation of $5 to support Biddeford Historical Society’s mission to preserve and present Biddeford history.
