Art, beer, music, food, and more! Join us for the River Jam Fringe Fest, a celebration of community in downtown Biddeford to kick off River Jam weekend!
Thanks to generous sponsorship from Town & Country Federal Credit Union, we are able to offer this great new addition to the River Jam weekend!
Starting at 4 p.m. in Shevenell Park, take in a temporary public art installation coordinated by Maine Center for Creativity, enjoy a beverage from Banded Horn, Dirigo Brewing, and Barreled Souls, and dance to live music by soul revival group, Youngerbloods.
September 15th is also National Park(ing) Day so groups will be taking over parking spots on Main Street and Franklin Street to convert them to active spaces for pedestrians.
Go spot to spot and grab a bite from one of our participating restaurants (so far, Palace Diner, Cowbell Burger Bar, Portland Pie and Biscuits & Co have signed on to serve street food).
Also, get your bike fixed by the Community Bike Center’s Bike Doctor, reimagine Shevenell Park with Engine’s designers, check out the wheat paste murals, write your dream on the Before I Die Wall, play some games, find out what Ferry Beach Parks Association offers, and check out live printmaking with Pickwick Press from Portland.
From 5-9 p.m., you can also check out Influx: A Multimedia Installation Event at the Pepperell Mill Campus.
During this Grand Opening, patrons will be able to explore artwork that is inspired by the past, present and future of the mill, the natural elements of the nearby river and ocean, as well as the activities of the people in the mill and surrounding urban areas. Artists will be present at the opening event, and an event map will be available to guide patrons to explore the installations and to become familiar with the mill campus and area businesses.
More to come!
